I received an MEd in Counseling Psychology in 1982 and in 1985 an MSW with Advanced Standing from Boston University.

I am also certified in Hypnosis with ADD/ADHD and am an Advanced Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist through ICBCH.

I implemented a drug and alcohol education and prevention program in several middle schools in the Boston area and lectured and held workshops on the topic. I was a consultant at a leading Health and Human Service Agency in their outpatient drug and alcohol facility for 12 years where I did individual, family, and group work.  Additionally, I spent several years interfacing with the court system, performing intake and diagnostic evaluations for clients arrested for DUI and ran aftercare groups for alcohol recovery.  I have built and continue to maintain an extensive private practice working with individuals and couples exploring issues in a caring, safe, and supportive environment.
